SMPS Heartland Regional Conference is off to a great start

After more than a year of planning, designing, building and coordinating, we are pleased that the SMPS Heartland Regional Conference is here in Chicago. The turnout has been great and everyone is loving this conference.

Valley Vein & Laser taps Echo for branding initiatives

Echo Design Group is excited to announce that Valley Vein & Laser Center in Naperville and Aurora, Illinois has chosen Echo for their branding initiatives. Echo’s extensive health care experience was a critical factor in their decision. Led by Dr. W. Gregory Ward, Valley Vein & Laser specializes in varicose vein treatments. Dr. Ward has practiced in Naperville for more than two decades and is recognized as a leading specialist for advanced treatments of varicose and spider veins.

We’re looking to hire a full time web developer

Echo Design Group is looking for an organized, fast-learning, and detail oriented developer to join our small and nimble team in Naperville, IL.

As a full stack developer, you’re comfortable with a variety of toolchains and workflows, and you’re not shy when it comes to server administration or making DNS changes.  You feel anxious when projects are not under version control, and you’re obsessed with the quality and cleanliness of your code.  You’re comfortable communicating directly with clients, and juggling multiple projects with varying timelines and requirements.

Skills & Requirements

  • 3+ years of web development experience in an agency environment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex terms and ideas to clients and coworkers
  • Ability to work collaboratively with designers
  • You have an eye for design and how it applies to usability
  • Demonstrated ability to craft clean, modern, and semantically accurate HTML & CSS
  • Familiarity with (and preference for) CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS
  • Experience building, testing, and debugging modern web apps
  • Experience carrying out basic Linux operations such as modifying file permissions, using SSH, and solving minor server issues in a dedicated virtual server environment
  • Expertise in PHP and MySQL, and an understanding of OOP principles
  • Expertise in building and testing responsive sites (using mobile-first methodology)
  • Familiarity and experience with Git
  • Experience building WordPress themes

 

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with JS frameworks like Angular or Ember
  • Experience with development tools like Yeoman, Grunt, or Bower
  • Familiarity with HTML email templates and their idiosyncracies
  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks like Bootstrap, Bourbon, or Foundation
  • UI or UX knowledge
