The Challenge
The Cotter Consulting brand was beginning to show its age. We should know as we built their brand more than a decade ago. While it served them well, a refresh was needed to bring energy and excitement to the brand.
Our Approach
While the Cotter brand had strong elements, it needed some refinement to update the design and project a more progressive identity. Often, this can be more challenging than a new brand, but our team was up to the task and delivered an updated brand that struck the perfect balance.
Identity
We started with the logo, the foundation for the brand. We kept the logomark because it is a unique and highly recognizable brand element that we loved. We explored variations but kept the original as it was the best solution. What changed was the typeface and colors. A new San Serif typeface was introduced and we updated the color palette.
Branding
Once the logo was completed, we focused on their branding, updating the existing assets with their new logo and applying design refinements. We created a LEAD acronym that featured custom iconography that emphasized how Cotter listens, engages, advises and delivers.
Web Development
The biggest initiative with their brand refresh was to build a brand-new website. The goal was to create an online experience that better communicated the Cotter Way and connected their people to projects, markets and news articles. We designed and built a completely custom WordPress website with a clean design, an intuitive UX, well-written pages and internal linking to connect their people to related content.
