The Challenge
While the content on their old site was quite good, the design looked dated. As part of our strategy, we wanted to deliver a more modern and attractive design. So, we developed a full-frame solution that fills the screen, creating an immersive user experience. We complemented the design with modern scroll-triggered animations, creating a more immersive experience.
Our Approach
The site’s top-level pages are designed to provide small amounts of information, encouraging the user to click through to learn more. We built the pages with a long page format, which made it easy to get the information simply by scrolling. The content is arranged in logical blocks to convey each section’s key messaging and calls to action.
Design
Our strategy was to design a solution that gave the user the information they desired in a clean, elegant, mobile-friendly way. At the heart of our design were custom landing pages for shopping and dining which allowed the user to visually explore options and drill down further.
Web Development
Discoverability was a critical part of this project. We needed to make it incredibly easy for users to explore the website from the palm of their hands. Our custom WordPress programming connected all the dynamic content together, making it easy for the user to click through to view related businesses, news or events. The shopping and dining landing pages used categories to guide one’s search, and a directory made it incredibly easy to search for a specific business or category.
Mobility
As an extension of the website, we designed and built a Mailchimp template to drive traffic to the website. Each e-blast promotes the latest businesses, news, and events in Downtown Naperville. SMS marketing has also been implemented to deliver Downtown Naperville information via text messages.
